This is a design and implementation project for a downtown plaza in Belfield, ND. The design creates spaces for seating, socializing, festival stage, and shading structures. A series of pavement strips are used to form an Art Deco styling that aligns with the local culture. Raised planting and sloped lawn define a soft boundary between the main streets and the plaza. For the design and modeling phase, I use Revit with a BIM approach that connects drawing items with building information. Therefore, all plans, sections, construction specifications, schedules, quantity sums, labels, etc are linked together. I found that this approach will save at least 50% of the time for both modeling and modification.
