Force Based Design using Agent Based Modeling
This is a prototype study about understanding behavior dynamics using forces and agents. For the favorable site elements, I defined them as attraction forces. For the undesired site elements, I defined them as repulsive force. I developed a custom program to calculate the force field using vector field mass addition. Then I use agent to run through the force field with initial speed and direction. The footprint traces of the agents could inform how a person would move through the site. The result will help develop spatial forms and distributions for site design and planning.
