Landscape Manipulatives --- Clemson, SC

May, 2017

This is a research project to develop new ways for public school students to interact with the outdoor environment without sacrificing learning outcomes. By synthesizing extensive literature content from Learning theories, Play theories and Natural environment theories, I created a new framework called landscape manipulatives as a specific environmental behavior guidance for outdoor math learning. A quasi-experiment was conducted in a middle school in South Carolina to test students' pre vs post performance on test scores and math motivation.
