Park System Planning -- Ortonville,MN

Feb, 2018

This is a planning study for the park board of the city of Ortonville, MN. The goal is to prioritize city lands and road system for active living. We inventoried all the community amenities such as financial services, restaurants, groceries, retails, health care, schools, sports fields, parks, playgrounds, etc. We then analyzed the road system that connects all these amenities using network connectivity methods (Graph Theory). Development suggestions include park renovations, trail prioritization, and downtown corridor identification. A customized Python script was developed for this project for calculating routes for amenity pairs (https://github.com/theansweryang/ArcpyCode/blob/arcPro/GraphNetworkAnalysis-ArcPro.ipynb).
